Jesse Delmar

Jesse Delmar, a member of the Navajo Nation, currently serves as Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety. Prior to that, he served as the Police Chief for the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Police Department and in several positions with the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.

With significant experience and expertise in public safety, he also served as Vice-Chair  for the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Indian Section.

He was awarded the National Native American Law Enforcement Association’s 2017 Public Safety Director of the Year. The award is presented annually to a public safety director who has made positive strides in their community.

Director Delmar received his Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Northern Arizona University. He is also a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy and of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy.
